Default RustHunter.com is launched. My new website.

Folks, as many of you know, I've been thinking about adding a new site for a few months. I purchased this domain name in October 2011, and last night I worked on it for a few hours. I got enough up that I felt comfortable publishing it, even though it is far from complete. FAR!

It is pretty raw right now, I am going to improve the pics significantly and add borders to them, not to mention add several dozen more over the next week or so. There will be pics of tools in all conditions, because I want folks to know that I buy tools that are in the rough also. THis will not be a site that shows much of my rehab processes.

Anyway, do me a favor and go take a look. I'd love to get some feedback from you all. Please feel free to make observations, both positive AND negative. I'd also appreciate any suggestions.

Disclaimer- I won't be adding a forum or comments section to my site. I had that before on my other website and got spammed beyond belief. Just not worth it at all.

thanks in advance

Looks good to me, clean and simple, pictures are good, no miss spelling, good info stated.

Do you plan on adding an info box under on each tool shown?

The "we" is Tim and I, although I have lots of others who are involved in a small way, also.

Tim is the saw guy. He loves old saws. He lurkes here on WWZ occasionally, and he'll be joining soon and introduce himself, I'm sure. He goes by DammitTim on that other site.

I have plans of selling here, on Ebay and other sites, and with each listing, I'll be having a tag that states I am in the market for tools from anywhere, and which leads to RustHunter.com. There will hopefully be folks from other states who will contact me to sell their tools.

For example, if someone from Pennsylvania wants to sell their old tools, I can refer them to one of you guys, if you are interested. You could go visit them, and buy their stuff for yourself, or even act as an agent for me (and I'd pay you 'finders fees' for doing the legwork and shipping items to me). In this way, I get associates in different states and would list them on the "About Us" page. I already have a few people who are interested in doing this in other states. Most of the time, I won't do anything other than just put the sellers in touch with local buyers and they work out everything on their own. I'm just a contact resource with a web presence that gives some folks a sense of legitimacy.

Of course, I hope to get a lot of tools for myself, too.

I guess I see this as the beginning of a network of RustHunters, I hope.

Anyone interested in being an associate? No fees or anything at all involved, just some fun and RustHunting potential.

Everything looks good to me except the white background
on the tool pic's. You said you're going to border the photos --
that would help...but, white is hard on the eyes, buff is better.

Think of accounting paper -- buff is a light cream color.
Another good color easy on the eyes is pale green --
Both are easy on the eyes.
